What is "Ampersand"?The word "Ampersand" is the technical term for the "&" sign. So our name literally means "AND"—because we offer so much more than just flowers. We offer full-service wedding planning AND wedding officiating AND day-of, week-of, or month-of wedding coordinating; AND, of course, fresh flowers too!
-
What does Ampersand do?Ampersand Flowers & Events offers everything from full-service wedding planning to wedding officiating and wedding coordinating (with day-of, week-of, and month-of options)—and, of course, fresh flowers. Please note that, because we're focusing almost exclusively on weddings, we're no longer offering daily or weekly flower deliveries. Additionally, when the lease expires at our current retail space, we won't be renewing it. So this also means that, by default, we will no longer have a private event space either. And our event calendar is already full for the rest of our lease term. We're so sorry. Thank you for understanding. But we're still hosting "The Great Big Flower Sale" on the first Wednesday of September (9/5) and October (10/5) from 1pm to 7pm, so please stop by and say hello!

Do I really need a coordinator? We hear it all the time: "Hiring a wedding coordinator was the best money we spent on our wedding!" Ask any of your friends who've recently gotten married, and they'll probably say the same. A coordinator's job (well, one of our many jobs...) is to be a buffer between you and any potential issues that may arise on your wedding day—because there will be issues. Even the most perfectly executed weddings have minor problems. But our job is to anticipate and solve those problems before they actually *become* problems. That said, after the initial consultation—which is required for all bookings—we'll be completely honest with you and let you know if we think our services are truly necessary. (There have been a few instances in which a wedding coordinator wasn't needed.) We always strive to be as open and transparent as possible.
-
How much does a coordinator cost? Our coordinating packages start at $599. And even with the most basic package, we include an initial consultation, assistance creating your day-of timeline, decor setup, vendor coordination, on-site event management to ensure your ceremony and reception go according to plan, and much more. We have options that range from day-of, week-of, month-of, and full-service wedding planning. And we'll help you choose the perfect package to best suits your needs and budget.

How much do wedding flowers cost?It really depends! There are so many factors that determine what wedding flowers will cost: the kinds of flowers you want, whether those flowers are in season, whether your wedding is near a major flower holiday (i.e., Valentine's Day or Mother's Day), the amount of flowers you’ll need, and the amount of time it'll take to prepare the flowers in order to make your vision come to life. For reference, our smallest bouquets are $79 each, with the bride's bouquet averaging closer to $199); boutonnieres are $19 each; corsages are $39 each; and centerpieces start at $39 per table—but can cost upwards of $199 per table if you're looking for something like what's on Pinterest. Ceremony installations, like florals and greenery for an arch, start at $229 plus a $99 installation fee—but can cost upwards of $1,000 or more iif you're looking for something like what's on Pinterest. Please note this starting price does not include the arch itself. Almost every couple underestimates how expensive flowers are! But we'll always promise to help you stick to your budget as best we can, and we’re happy to make suggestions on where to save and where to spurge.
-
Is there a minimum for wedding flowers? If you're hiring Ampersand to coordinate, officiate, or plan your wedding, there's NO minimum for your wedding flowers! If you're looking for wedding flowers ONLY, without any additional services, there's a $1,000 minimum for all orders. Thank you for understanding!

I just need bouquets. I have everything else. Is that ok?That's a great question! At Ampersand, we have an "all or nothing" policy, meaning if we do some of your flowers, we have to do all of your flowers. We're unable to create any of your flowers if you're also using someone else's flowers--whether they're from another flower shop and/or any kind of faux flowers. We're happy to provide a more detailed explanation of this policy and the logic behind it if you're interested. Thank you for understanding!

Can I schedule a consultation for my flowers? You can! Here’s how it works: First, please send us an email to request a quote. We’ll send you back a list of detailed questions to help us get a better idea of your vision. As soon as you send back your answers to those questions, we’ll start working on your fully customized proposal. (Please note there's currently a three-week waiting list for quotes, so thank you in advance for your patience!) Then, once you’ve had a chance to review your custom proposal, we'd be happy to set up a consultation, either in person or via Zoom, to go over everything in more detail and make any adjustments as needed.

How do I book Ampersand for my wedding? When you decide you'd like to work with us, just let us know! We'll email you the contract to sign electronically, and we'll send over a link to take care of the deposit online. Half of the estimated balance is due with the signed contract in order to reserve your wedding date, and the other half of the remaining balance (plus any add-ons) will be due 30 days prior to your wedding date. Please note that an initial consultation is required for all coordinating clients—whether you choose the day-of, week-of, month-of, or full-service wedding planning package.
